While flying humanoid reports often depicted entities such as angels and manbats in the early and mid-20th century, a new brand of this bizarre phenomenon has recently appeared. These entities appear to be technologically-based instead of supernatural or ostensibly alien, often resembling humanoids in high-tech suits or jet-packs. As far as we know, the military has not been testing jet-pack technology in public areas, and so the question must be asked as to what these entities are. According to a paranormal investigator by the name of Ken Gerhard, the following report is the first one of this increasingly-common type.

The Incident[]

Jetpack Monstrosity

Obviously this picture is just a stock piece of artwork, and doesn't actually depict the creature in question. Just clarifying!

It was a Winter morning in 1936, and fifteen-year-old E.E. Loznaya was walking to school along an isolated path in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan when she had an unnerving encounter with an anomalous aerial entity - the likes of which had never been seen before at the time. She noticed a strange-looking object flying through the air, and within moments of first catching sight of it she was able to discern that it 'appeared to be a medium-sized man dressed in black overalls and donning a matching helmet that obscured its face'. She described the entity as wearing an oval-shaped 'rucksack' and said that a low, rumbling noise emanated from its humanoid form.

What might've originally been fascination with the bizarre sight before her quickly turned into ice-cold terror when she realised that the being had suddenly changed directions and was now heading straight for her. In panic, she tried to find somewhere to hide - but seeing as she was in the middle of a snowbank she had nowhere to run. Luckily, the aerial aberration had vanished when she next looked up.

Speculation[]

I see no reason why this entity couldn't have been a human testing out some kind of hitherto-unknown technology, but real-life jet-packs have only just emerged from the pages of sci-fi nowadays - and so would've presumably not been available in the 1930s. Perhaps this high-tech humanoid horror was actually an alien of some sort, perhaps using the same sort of technology used to terrorise Victorian England in the Spring-Heeled Jack case? There are certainly 'alien' cases involving humanoids that appear to fly around using jet-packs, and so I would say that it's not too much of a stretch.
