In the 18th century, a living dinosaur attacked a man. The man killed it, and the dinosaur's carcass was buried in darkness...
The Incident[]
The strange encounter occurred in the Shanshan region of the Gobi Desert, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Sometime between 1773 and 1777, captain Yu Jin'ao was strolling through the desert at night when a mysterious creature attacked him. It was three meters (9'8) long and appeared to be a bipedal gecko. Yu Jin'ao fired two arrows, one of which struck the creature in the chest, killing it.
Identity[]
The area where the sighting occurred, its size, and its bipedal characteristics seem to indicate that a juvenile Tarbosaurus may be its true identity. Tarbosaurus was a dinosaur that inhabited the Gobi Desert during the Cretaceous Period and was a close relative of Tyrannosaurus.
On the other hand, some have questioned the theory that such a creature survived.
