Flap

Also called a "wave", a flap is an unusually high amount of activity reported in a specific area or worldwide during a period of time. This activity is usually thought of as being of a specific type (UFOs, Bigfoot, etc) but there are several flaps on record - Point Pleasant 1966-1967, for example - in which all sorts of paranormal events occur in the same area over the same time period.
